South Dakota Family Visitation Chapter


Our primary focus is the emotional and physical safety and well being of children who are involved in family visitation and custody issues.

Our services include:

bulletSupervised Visitation (monitored by staff and/or video)
bulletAssisted Connections (exchanges) of children from one adult to another without the adults having contact
bulletSupervised telephone contact for parents who are out-of-town or out-of-state
bulletSupport and negotiations of visitation times and dates

Who May Use Visitation Services?

bulletFamily members needing support and assistance in establishing or re-establishing parental relationships]
bulletParents using children to control a former partner
bulletFamilies in which visitation times are sources of conflict and hostility witnessed by the children
bulletFamilies in which one or more parents have a history of picking up children while under the influence of drugs or alcohol
bulletFamilies in which there is a repeated pattern of inconsistency or irresponsibility in exercising or allowing visitation
bulletParents who have Protection Orders, Restraining Orders or Disorderly Conduct Orders
bulletFamilies where children are in foster care because of abuse
bulletFamilies where there is a concern about a parent leaving the area with the child(ren)
bulletOut-of-town parents needing a comfortable, home-like atmosphere for visits
bulletParents with other special circumstances
